こちらのブログについて友達から「たしかに萌え系アーティストの一部は、ドラァグクイーンに通じるような『過度な女性らしさ』を演じてるかっこよさがあるよね。女性が女性を演じてるからその点は違うけど」というコメントをもらいました。
私はむしろ、モモーイが一見テンプレ的な萌え属性を歌っているように見えつつ「現実の複雑な感情を指差すような感覚もある」ようなところがかっこいいという話のつもりだったんですが、たしかにそういうかっこよさもあると思います。例えば電波ソングの関連アーティストだと、恋汐りんご先輩はそういう「過度なかわいさ」のかっこよさがあると思います。
——汐りんはいつから“汐りん”になったのかな？と疑問だったんですが、昔からずっと汐りんだったんですね！
そうですねぇ。たぶん、どうやって “恋汐りんご”ができたのかっていうと、しおが生きてきたなかで“なりたい女の子像”があって、そういう理想が自分だけのものじゃなくて、アイドル活動などで発信していくものになっていったところに“恋汐りんご”っていう名前が付いたのかなって思っていて。だから突然ポッとできたというよりは、しおが今まで観てきたものとか憧れてきたものとかが、段々と“恋汐りんご”を形成していく元になっていったのかなぁって思いまる。
最初見たときは「へー洗脳･搾取･虎の巻が好きなんだー」って思ってたんですが、そのまま10年以上走り続けていて、本当に好きでやっている凄みを感じます。

「キャンプ」について
そういう話をChatGPTに聞いてみたところ、「キャンプ」という概念を教えてもらいました。うーん、たしかに近い部分はあるような…。
「camp」という英語は、もともと男性の同性愛者が自らの立場を誇示したパフォーマンスを行うさいの、ユーモラスで芝居がかった言葉づかいや飾り立てた女装などを指して使われていたが、そこから転じて、同性愛者にとどまらず、言外の意味を含ませる皮肉な芸術表現、爛熟しきった都会的な趣味嗜好など幅広い現象を指すようになった。

ソンタグ以後「キャンプ」の意味内容は拡大し、カルメン・ミランダのような女性による誇張された女性ファッションや、女性同性愛者の文化を主題とした映画『ピンク・フラミンゴ』（1972）や『フィメール・トラブル』（1974）もキャンプ文化として批評対象となってゆく。

『The Cuteness of the Avant-Garde』。米批評家Sianne Ngaiの2005年の論文で、「キュート（かわいい）」を独立の美学カテゴリとして理論化し、前衛芸術と日常商品の接点から読み解いた論文。だそうです。

『Cute Masquerade and the Pimping of Japan』。これはクールジャパンが “可愛い女性像” を前面に出す一方で、実際の文化生産の主導権や語りの枠組みは男性エリートとオタク文化の価値観に偏っていることの批判してる論文みたいですね。
アメリカの文化人類学者ローラ・ミラー（Laura Miller）が2011年に International Journal of Japanese Sociology に発表した論文。国家プロジェクト「クールジャパン」を“可愛さ（kawaii）”で化粧直しした「仮面劇（masquerade）」として批判的に読み解き、女性像の利用（＝“pimping”）を指摘します。論文はその後、2014年の再編集版アンソロジーにも収録されています。

メイドカフェについての論文。Galbraithさんが著者です。「メイドは“個人”というよりキャラクターを演じ、来客との感情の循環を生む」みたいな内容みたいです。
でんぱ組.incについて
次のインタビューの中で、「メンバーごとに衣装が別々だ」という話に触れられています。「過度な女性らしさ」とは違うんですが、なにか近い感覚がある気がします。
Your stage costumes also look like they could’ve been plucked out of an anime or computer game…
Yumemi: Maybe all idols feel this way, but those dresses are only for when we’re on stage. You feel very strong once you put it on – it’s like a combat uniform… or at least, it is for us in Dempagumi.inc. Normally, the idols’ costumes you see have the same design with different colours for each member, but all six of us wear a different outfit – it’s one of Dempagumi’s distinctive traits. The designs for Moga-chan’s [Mogami’s] dresses are only for Moga-chan. No one else can wear them. For Pinky [Fujisaki], they’re designed to emphasise her good aspects. We have a trusting relationship with our designers, and they design our dresses based on a deep understanding of what we’re like.

――So, Dempagumi.inc was your first idol project as a producer, correct? What does this group mean to you?
Fukushima： While it's hard to say, I'd sum it up as "a magnificent experience." (lol) Since it was my first time managing an idol group, I fumbled my way through most of it. In the beginning I was just trying out whatever came to mind one after the other. I remember it mostly being just me and the members doing our best to make it work. Like I said before, I really like idols, but there were definitely times when I started to feel irritated at the thought of idol groups. That would be because up until that point idols had been organized and managed by men so a lot of the songs and their lyrics, especially about falling in love weren't really something women could connect to. Same goes for the costumes and sometimes I'd think, "Why these costumes?!" Whenever something like that arose, I'd just try and say to myself, "This is also a chance to make things better." When something is frozen solid, sometimes that makes it easier to break out of. I wanted people to be surprised by what we did and think, "Idol groups like this exist, too!" It was quite a difficult journey.
